Department: Sales Reports To: Director of North America Sales
Summary: The Territory Sales Manager is directly responsible for achieving the territory sales goals within a multi-state territory including CA, OR, WA, AZ, UT, ID, NM, CO, NE, British Columbia. The product focus is microbial identification and phenotype microarray for bacteria.
Job Qualifications:> The Territory Sales Manager preferably has two (2) years of successful experience selling capital equipment of life science products. Experience selling to quality control laboratories is preferred. Microbiology lab experience will also be considered in lieu of sales experience.
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biology or Biochemistry (Masters or PhD preferred), with a minimum of two (2) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Inside sales experience will be considered.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned:
Achieve or exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales objectives.
Plan, organize, implement and grow territory sales efforts including the maintaining and understanding of market segments, development of target sales lists and creation of periodic sales plans.
Track, document and report regularly, and in a timely manner, on progress in achieving goals.
Proactively develop ongoing knowledge of sales skills and product knowledge necessary to achieve goals.
Monitor travel expenses while being sensitive to cost effectiveness and budget guidelines.
Travel, as required to fulfill all responsibilities. Approximately 40-50% expected.
Ability to work from a home office and live in the US defined territory.

Knowledge of and experience with Industrial Microbiology labs is a big plus.
Strong phone selling skills and experience are beneficial due to large territory.
